Mrs. Radtke, nee Emma Lou Dishman, has been in Roseburg since Mo thers day visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Dishman. Funeral Held Funeral ser vices will be held Thursday at the Canby Funeral Home for Mrs. Eva L. Criteser, 76, route 1, Port land, who died May 20. Mrs. El sie Dimmick, Roseburg, Mrs. Et ta Woodard, Canby; George C. Criteser, New Era, and Ernest V. Criteser, Toledo, O., are the surviving daughters and sons. Daughter Is Born A daugh ter, Susan Marie, weighing six pounds six ounces, was born at 9:45 P. M. Monday, May 19, at the Community Hospital in Med ford to Mr. and Mrs. Arthur R. Spencer. Mrs. Irvin Brunn, ma ternal erandmother of the baby, is expected to return to Roseburg todav, following several days in Mediord with her duaghter, formerly Shirley Mae Brunn of this city. Benefit Card Party Douglas County residents are Invited to the Sutherlin P.-T.C. benefit card party Friday night,. May 23, at 8 o'clock at the Arts Building to raise money for a piano for the school. Tickets for the benefit will entitle the holder to partici pate for the door prizes, which include a pressure cooker, an electric iron and-a zipper lunch kit containing two thermos jugs. Beaver of the Keasey road presented a bouquet of digitalis to the News-Review Tuesday. Undergoes Minor Surgery O. V. Harrah of Roseburg under went minor surgery at Mercy hospital this morning. Wisconsin Visitor Here Mrs. J. O. Moen of Beloit, Wis., has arrived in Roseburg to spend 10 days visiting her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Cramer, at the Veterans Facility Post. She will be joined here Thursday by her son, Dean Dar rell Moen, who is stationed at Fort Ord, Calif., and will soon sail tor Japan to serve with the U. S. forces. He will arrive here Thursday for a two-day furlough. The Cramers and their niece, Esther, plan to take the vistlors on the Redwood-Crescent City loop trip over the weekend. Leave for North Mr. and Mrs. R. B. Hampton, Mrs. A. J. Young and Mrs. Earl Plummer all of Roseburg left this noon for Independence, Ore., where they will join Mrs. Gladys Hall, Port land, grand guardian of Oregon Job's Daughters, and Institute a bethel there this evening. Mr. Hampton is associate grand guardian of Oregon. Mrs. Young is past grand guardian of Oregon and Mrs. Plummer, who is a grand officer this year, is guard ian of Roseburg bethel. The Hamptons plan to go to Corvallis from Independence and will re main overnight visiting their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. John Ferguson, Jr., and family. Mr. Ferguson is attend ing Oregon State College. He and his family plan to spend the summer months in Roseburg. Two Gunmen Slain, Cop Wounded in Gun Fight NEW YORK, May 21. UP) Two unidentified gunmen were killed and a policeman was wounded early yesterday in a bar and grill in which two of 'the three customers were mounted patrolmen off duty.
