Society and Clubs By LOTUS KNIGHT PORTER JUNIOR DIVISION HAS INTERESTING MEETING TUESDAY The Junior Division of the First ChrikUHa Church met Tuesday evening at the home of Mrs. Ernest Higginbotham. Mrs. Ken- neth Knox led the devotionals and serveral members told of their summer vacation trips. New officers were elected and , Included: Mrs. Darrell Munson, president; Mrs. Elbert Naas, vice- - president; Mrs. Kenneth Knox, secretary-treasurer; Mrs. Don Reed, assistant secretary-treasurer. The retiring officers in clude: president, Mrs. William Unraih; secretary-treasurer, Mrs. Ernest Higginbotham, and assist ant secretary treasurer, Mrs. Stanley Click. Cradel-roll and nursery work was planned for the month. Bingo was played following the business session. S. Mobley, ex changed wedding vows with John N. Sparks, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. J. N. Sparks, Sr., of Yon calla. Rev. H. P. Sconce officiated at the double ring ceremony, as sisted by Rev. L. L. Simmons of North Hollywood, Galif., grand father of the bride. The Misses Myrna and Marlon Simmons, cousins of the brfde, lighted the candles as "One Alone" was played softly by Miss Mary Apra, pianist and Gene Yates, violinist. Harold Mobley, brother of the bride, sang "My Hero" and Gene Yates sang, "I Xove Thee." As the wedding march from Lohengrin was played, the wed ding party advanced up opposite aisles of the church led by the four ushers, Keith Mobley, the bride's brother; Lee Preston, Gor don Walker and Harold Mobley. The bridesmaids were lovely in Identical white organdy dresses, fashioned colonial style, and carrying nosegays of fuchia-col-ored gladioli. The bridesmaids were Miss Joanne Deets, Miss Beverly Hatfield, Miss Ada Sparks and Miss Marilyn Pres ton. Miss Bobbie Mobley was her sister's maid of honor and wore a pown matching the brides maids. Her nosegay was of pink rosebuds. Petite Beverly Clark was flower giul and wore a gown to match the attendants. Master Billie Snider, nephew of the bridegroom, was ringbearer and wore a white coat and dark trou sers with a red rosebud bou tonniere. The bride, given in marriage by her father, was beautiful In a colonial style gown of white eye let Jersey with a snug-fitting bo dice and three-tiered hoop skirt. Her gloves were elbow length white Jersev and she wore a ca meo on a black velvet band about her throat. Her finger-tip veil was caught on each side by white bouvardia sprays. The bride's bouquet was centered .with a large lavendar orchid surrounded by bouvardia and placed on a White fan. The bridegroom's best man was his best friend, .George Hughes. The briders mother wore a dress of black crepe with char-' treuse gloves. Her corsage was of yellow rosebuds tied with chartreuse ribbon. The bride groom's mother was dressed in a black Jersey dress with matching gloves and a corsage of pink rosebuds. A reception followed at the bride's home. After the bride and bridegroom cut the three-tiered wedding cake, it was served by Mrs. Martha Bcctold, assisted by Mrs. Eva Bectold. Mrs. Anna Wickham poured and Miss Char lone Deets was in charge of the piest hook. The party will take place September 26, at a one o'clock salad-luncheon at the club house to be followed by contract bridge.
