NO HOST DINNER AND CARD PARTY ENJOYED YONCALLA The Rice Hill Grange Home Economics Club sponsored a no-host dinner and! card party at the hall, Tuesday evening. Following a most de licious dinner, five hundred and pinochle was played, with Mrs. Harvev Cockeram winning high score for ladies and II. L. Stem- aker for men. Harpham family, made during his 40 years in the Forest Service, gathered in Riversdale f.rnnaa hull In.t in ui. honor on his retirement this week as supervisor of the Umpsua Na tional Forest. Gifts presented to Mr. and Mrs. Harpham by the staff of the Umpqua National Forest were gold wrist watches, and presenta tion was made by M. M. Nelson, who will succeed Mr. Harpham here as i'orest supervisor. Mr. Harpham, sitting at the head table, was flanked by his wile and his four daughters, and by old friends who reminisced of the days when they served to gether on the Umpqua and other forests in Washington and Ore gon. Master of ceremonies was John Kuhns, Portland, assistant re gional forester, was introduced by Ray Hampton of Roseburg, who is on the supervisor's staff.
