A. held its regular meeting Monday at 7:30 p. M. with Mrs. I.. Strode as the new president. There was a short bust ness meeting and Mrs. Gray and Mrs. Bennett each gave a talk on the "Kecreation project that the schools ana p.-r. A. s are trying so nara to put over and which is so desperately needed. Alter the business session a very niee pro gram was presented, consisting of: Mrs. Lowell Kussell with sev eral native Indian songs, "Indian Love Call," "Take the Name of Jesus" and "Nearer My (Jod to Thee." Mr. Russell sang "Hells of St. Mary's," "Smoke (Jets In Your Eyes" and a little "ditty" from Arkansas. Jane Hissell presented her boys and girls in a tap dance and her ballett girls in a review. Teddy and Dale Wheeler. Hose burg's cowboy singers, with "Sky and Ball Paint." "Born To Lose' "Moon Over My Shoulder." After the program delicious re freshments of home made cake and coffee were served in the lunch room. Benson School is proud of the way that the par ents are beginning to take an In terest in the P.-T. A. and they urge that all the new .parents please attend P.-T. A. to get acquainted and help to make this a bigger and better organization. STATE DIRECTOR TO VISIT HERE TONIGHT Mrs. Catherine Bowcn, State Field Director over Oregon and Washington lor the Woman s Benefit Association, will pay her official visit here tonight and will be guest of honor at a six-thirty o'clock banquet at the Hotel Rose. All members are urged to be pres ent, as Mrs. Bowen will hold a school of instruction following the banquet. RIVERSDALE GRANGE HAS BIRTHDAY DINNER and the Rlverstale Grange voted la favor of the resolution. Stark and March, the Riversdale , j,c TrowMc, Mrs. Charli ne Grange met Friday night at the Trowlle and Harry Denton in hall for a delightful seven o'clock potluck supier, followed bv the regular grange session in charge of the master, Eldon Ogle. The third and fourth obligation were given to Mr. and Mrs. Gil bert and Mrs. R. L. Matthews. Four names were presented for membership and the degree team conferred the first and sec ond degrees on 15 members; eight from Camas Valley and seven from Sutherlin. The Grange voted to have the charge of refreshments. TEA IS CHARMING AFFAIR AT LADD HOME YONCALLA Mrs. W. J. Ladd, assisted by Mrs. Kirteley and Mrs. Tystad entertained at a tea and missionary meeting at the Ladd home, Thursday afternoon. Mrs. Perry Smith, president of the W. S. C. S. presided at a very interesting business miH't ing. Reports of different com mittees were given. The So ciety ordered work started on Kiwanls Club present an enter- j an inside lavatory. THETA RHO CLUB PLANS ACTIVITIES Alpha Zeta Theta Rho Girls Club met Tuesday night at the I. O. -O. F. Hall and made plans for attending the conference to be held at Creswell. Saturday, March 23, and also made plans for a skating party to be held that same evening at the Rainbow Rink at Winchester. The meeting was preceded by an enjoyable six-thirty o'clock pot luck supper. Covers were placed for 25 members and three Re bekahs. The next regular meeting will be held at 7:3(1 o'clock the 2 at the I. O. evening of April O. F. Hall, ELKHEAO GRANGE HAS INTERESTING MEETING YONCALLA Elkhead Grange No. 887 enjoyed a very Interest ing meeting Wednesday evening, master Lloyd Pinkston, presiding. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Miller were given the first and second de grees. A surprise visit by C. A. Wicklander, state deputy and his wife, and C. F. Tipton, county deputy and his wife of Roseburg was greatly enjoyed. A social hour followed the clos ing of the meeting, after which delicious refreshments were served by Mrs. Fred Reeves, and Mrs. Lloyd Pinkston. Thirty members and guests were pres ent. FORMER YONCALLA BOY MARRIES YONCALLA Word was re ceived recently of the marriage of Keith Cramer, son of Mr. and Mrs.John Cramer, former Yon calla residents, and Miss Jean Limprecht of Greenwood, Wis.
