Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Mnhonrv and children, Naoma, Merle and tommy, left for their home in Los Angeles after spending sev eral weeks here visiting at the home of Mrs. Ma honey's parents, Mr. and Mrs, I Pin y LaPrath. Mr. nnd Mrs. William LaPralh, formerly of Knglowood, Calif, are building a new home on Mr, l.a Pralh's father's ranch and Intend making their future home here. Mr. LaPrath was recently dis charged from the army. The members of the Church of Christ held a potluek dinner Tuesday evening, nt the ranch home of Mr. and Mrs. Henry LaPrath. The dinner was in hon or of the guests from California. Dinner was served to about fitly quests, after which games were played and singing was enjoyed. Mr. and Mrs. Waller Hell and children left Friday for Portland to spend the weekend visiting with Mr. Bell's brother who Just returned home from Germany. Heller and granddaughter, Susan Skol Ion, and Mrs. Icna McArthur of Pasadena were visitors for the past two weeks al the home of Mis. Heller's brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred G. Clark. They are now spending a few weeks as house guests of Mr. and Mi's. Clyde Lunnon, Azalea, and plan on spending several months in !hi;' vicinity. Kane Friday. After financial reports and gen eral matters were attended to, a short time was devoted to parlia mentary usage, particularly in reference to correct placing of motions. Mrs. Amelia Hill gave a report of the activities of the Missionary Council of Coquilloj After the paper bag lunch, visit ing was enjoyed until 1:30 P. M.,. when the missionary meeting con vened. Mrs. Beckley presented the pro gram using some very interesting new world maps. The annual report was given by Mrs. Elsie Lee. Forty-six gar ments were sent to the hospital on the Congo by Miss Gertrude Shumaker, missionary. Mrs. Josie Piatt led the devo tions. A preview of the year's study: "uprooted American showing the world-wide problems ol the present was made. The list of four books for the memorial library shelf at the city library was accepted. Ore., Aug. 6 (AP) The state board of barber ex aminers does not have the right to refuse restoration of licenses to Japanese aliens whose licenses in this state have expired within the past five years, Attorney Gen eral Neuner notified the board's executive secretary today. The state has a law forbidding registration of aliens as barbers but it does not affect those regis tered prior to its passage, Neuner held. Oregon's law also provides, he pointed out, that a registered bar ber who retires from practice of barbering for not more than five yeas is still considered as regis tered and may renew his certifi cate of registration upon payment of required restoration fees. After five years he is required to take examinations for registration.
