Mrs. Mac Knapp, Mrs. W. D. Love, Mrs. Clifford McKay, Mrs Lewis Hedgepeth and children! The next meeting will be an all-day meeting with a no-hostess potluck luncheon at noon on Thursday, July 5, for the pur pose of cleaning up the cluohouse and grounds. MRS. Deardorff of Oak land, as dinner guests at her home in Wilbur Tuesday, June 20. Mrs. Stewart, nee Lizzie Coo per, was born and lived in Wil bur with her pioneer parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Cooper until she married Jack M. Stewart of Milton. SUTHERLIN The regular meeting of the Sutherlin Re bekah lodge was held Thursday evening with Hazel Green, noble grand, presiding The application of Anna B. McColluck, by rein statement, was balloted upon and she was duly elected. The Elkton lodge paid a fra ternal visit and put on a very in teresting program which was en joyed bv all that were nresent. The program was as follows: Song, "God Bless America," by Mrs. Anna Bauer and Mrs. June Morganti; skit, "Aunt Betty's Oil Stock," Mrs. Dorothy Binder and Mrs. Edith Adams; reading, "A Gifted Conversationalist," Mrs. Edith Gates: skit, "The Elder Makes A Call," H. D. Aldridge, Mrs. Ida Jacobs, Mrs. Barbara Tarnowski, Mrs. Phyllis Smith and Mrs. Edith Adams; skit, "Sight Seeing In Elkton," Mrs. Edith Gates and Mrs. Mona Ry dell; short readings by members from Kellogg, "Philosophize on everything from Springtime and Love to Taxation and Over Pro duction," Dayton Minter, Mrs. Rita Minter, Mrs. Mable Radar, Mrs. Anna Bauer and Mrs. Bessie Haines;. ending with a very beau tiful patriotic tableau, "American Prayer" and "Star Spangle Ban ner," sung by Mrs. Anna Bauer accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Lois Beckley. At a very late hour the guests departed and we hope that they will come again and that we can have these gatherings more often. BERTHA A. FORREST AND JOHN WEBBER MARRY The marriage of Mrs. Bertha A. Forrest, formerly of Berkeley, California, and more recently of CanyonvillB; Oregon, to Mr. John Weber of Sacramento, California, was an event of June twenty-fifth in St. George's Episcopal church in Roseburg. The ceremony was performed by Father Blaker in the late afternoon. The bride was dressed in dusty pink and wore a lovely corsage of gardenias. The-wedding party included Mr. and Mrs. Chris Daniels and their young son, Richard. Dinner at the Alpine Lodge near Canyonville followed, after which the couple left for a trip down the Redwood highway. After Julv 1 they will be at home at 2501 Eighth avenue, Sacra mento, California. An informal reception honor ing the couple was given the pre vious evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Chris Daniels of Canyon ville. Guests included Mr. and Mrs. King Heiskell of Tiller. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Fisher of Myrtle Creek, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Pietzold, Mrs. Clifford Beals and Mrs. George McClain of Canyonville. PATCH AND CHAT CLUB MEETS WEDNESDAY The Patch and Chat club met Wednesday. June 27, at the home of Mrs. Ed Verrell. The time was spent in sewing and visiting and refreshments were served to the following: Guests, Mrs. George Nidav and children, Patricia and Albert, Joan Ware and Ruby Jo Findlay. Members. Hackney enjoyed a picnic supper and social eve ning in honor of the formers sis ter and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Hutchinson of Los Aneeles who are viisting them. The affair was held Tuesday evening in the beautiful picnic nark at the home of Thomas Ay ling and Edmund Burke on the Umoqua river at Melrose. Medford Rodeo to Draw Visitors From Douglas A large number of Douglas county residents are expected to spend Saturday and Sunday in Medford, where they will attend the two-day rodeo being staged by the Jackson County oMunted Sheriff's posse. The show will open Saturday night at the county fairgrounds. Sunday's performance will bo hold in the afternoon. Included in the Douglas county group will be several members from the Douglas County Mount ed police, who will study the ro deo set-up to gain ideas for p sim ilar program planned at Rose burg in September, if facilities can be provided by that time. Funeral Services Set for PFC. Robert Hafer Funeral services will be held Monday, at the chapel of the Roseburg Funeral home for PFC Robert Hafer, who died June 26 at the Madigan arm" hospital Fort Lewis, Wash. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles and Mable Hafer, Sturgls, Mich., two broth ers, Alva, and ensign in the navy, and Corporal Chester Hafer in Germany; a sister, Mrs. Max (Elizabeth Ann) Greenwalt, Stur gis, Mich., and grandmother, Mrs. Paul Blaschke, 806 Winchester St., Roseburg. Concluding services will be held at the Veterans facility cemetery with military honors. Larceny Charge Ousted. Charges or larcenv in a dwell ing, recently filed against Ardis Forrer, in a complaint by Patricia Bilyeau, Tyee, were dismissed to day, folowing a preliminary ex amination in the Roseburg Jus tice court. The accusation was denied by Mrs. Forrer, and evi dence introduced at the hearing was insufficient to justify grand lury action, Judge Thomas C. Hartfiel declared. Traffic Fines Paid Elliott Motsehenbacher and Walter Armstrong paid fines of $2.50 each after pleading guilty to the charge of running vehicles past stop signs, A. J.
