Woodruff, seaman first class of the armed guard (Pacific), re ' turned to his base Tuesday after a seven-day leave visiting at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Woodruff, and his brother-In-lasv and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Myron Lehne. Donld Arthur Alexander, 22, the Roseburg, was sentenced to 30 days in the county jail today, aft er pleading gutity in justice court to a charge of petty larceny. Alexander, Judge Thomas Hart fiel reported, was accused' of the theft of an automobile tire from the Doyle wrecking yard. City police, it was reported, saw Alexander's car with one wheel resting on a Jack in the downtown area, and watched un til he appeared with a tire and secured admission, foil owing questioning, that the tire had been taken from a car left at the wrecking yard.
