Lundeon of Koscbuig was graduated recently from St. (Mary's pre-flight school and is being transferred to the nuval air station at Livermore, Calif., to begin primary flight training. During his three months at St. Mary's he successfully completed courses in ground school and military and athletic training. Dale W. Moore of Roseburg has landed safely in England, accord ing to word received by his wife, the former Dora Mae Fletcher, who is now employed with the Ttoscburg tederal housing project. Private First Class Moore enlist ed in the army in March, 1343, and received basic training at Camp White. He is In the quart ermaster service. Sylmon Valley Visitor. Mr. and Mrs. L. IJ. Bus Route Substitute Luther Ellison is operating the high school bus route for the Tcnmile Olalla route to Roseburg this week. Gus Johnson of Tcnmile, regular driver of the bus, is ill at his home. Back to Work Miss Leota Wil son, deputy in the county clerk's office, has returned to her work, following a week's vacation spent in Salem visiting at the home of her brother-in-law, Monroe Cheek, and family. Back From Eugene Mr. and Mrs. Bernard A. Young and small son, Bernard, have returned to Roseburg, following the holidays in Eugene visiting Mrs. Young's parents, Dr. and Mrs. W. E. Bu chanan, Sr., and family. Residing at Harris Home Mrs. Robert Harris, who recently re turned to Roseburg from the east, and who has been staying with her mother, Mrs. Ethel Turner, has moved to the home of her pa reijts ln-law, Mayor and Mrs. W. F. Harris, on South Main street. Visiting Mother David Smithi who is a student .of piano in Cin cinnatl, Ohio, Is spending his va cation visiting his mother, Mrs. David (Ruth) Smith, who is em ployed at the Veterans Adminis tration facility. , The last week end they enjoyed a stay at Ban-don. Home From Hospital Armour Murdock, scaler for the Roach Timber company, who suffered a fractured leg last week at the Roseburg Lumber company yards, has been discharged from Mercy hospital and is reported to be do ing nicely at his home on Chad wick street. Back to Camp Private Leo Bollenbaugh has returned to his duties at Camp Abbott, Bend, fol lowing the holidays in Azalea and Roseburg visiting relatives and friends. Accompanying him to Hoseburg from Azalea were Miss "lyndoris Jurgensen and Mrs. Willard Jurgensen, who visited "riends here. Substituting at Rose School Mrs. Elward Smith is substitut ing this week at the Rose school in Roseburg- for Miss Dorothy Bennett, third grade teacher. Miss Bennett was Injured in an auto nomic accident during the Christ tcis vacation and is unable to re urn to her classes. Her home is n Mvrtle Point. Surviving, besides the mother, are Mr. Luther and a son, Dan. Arrangements for fu neral services were not reported.
