Mr. and Mrs. Judfi Moore of Canada were visiting relatives in Roseburg and Wilbur Thursday and Friday. Wickham. Mrs. Roy Smith and son; Don old and Dick, of Eugene, spent the. week-end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs.' Virgtf Smith. . ' Dan Bridge is spending a few days here visiting his mother, Mrs. Rosela Bridge, and other relatives and friends. " ' Mrs. fioseila Abel left Thurs day for Toledo o visit her sis ter,' Mrs. Harvey Wells, for a few weeks before returning to hef home in Oakland, Calif. Rev. L. G. Mrs. Milt Miller went to par den valley Monday to visit her daughter, Mrs. Walter Crosier and new grandson, Walter LeRoy. Mrs. Vernon LaRaut is in Gar dep valley this week taking care of Mrs. Walter Crosier and baby. ." Dick Brown from DixonvUle was home visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs, R. p.' Brown, over the week-end, Mr. Spencer and family, who spent the past few weeks in Wil bur cutting wooij for George Short, moved to Oakland last week. Days Creek DAYS CREEK, Feb. 12. Bud Gaulite returned to his home here Sunday night from Portland where he had been taking his ex amination preparatory to service with the navy. He will remain hero until called to duty. Word was recently received here of the birth Jan. 21 in Med ford of a son, John Glenn, to Mr. and Mrsi f"loyd Goin of Prospect. Both Mr. and Mrs. Goin are well known here, the former being the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dan Goin. They' formerly made this their home. Mr. and Mrs. N. E. White and their sons, Norman and Dickie, who for some months have been residing on the Baume place on upper Days Creek, .recently left for Bakersfleld, California, to make their' home. They were ov ernight guests at the home of Mr. and Mis. Fritz Snyder the last night of their stay here. Mr. and Mrs. Virgil McGee and their family of Nyssa have re cently been the guests of friends and relatives here. They former ly made this their home but for several years have been living on some of the newly reclaimed land near Nyssa. Their elder daughter, Mary Elizabeth, who was the guest of her cousin, Jean Mc Cee, visited school while here. While there both Jimmie and Ralph received medcal attention. " During last week-end Mrs. Wade Worthington and daughter, Beverly, and son, Junior, enjoyed a most pleasant visit with rela tives and friends in toscDurg and at Melrose, being overnight guests Saturday at the Melrosp home of Mrs. Worth(ngton's par: ents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Conn Saturday afternoon they attend ed a very lovely party in Rose burg complimenting Mrs. Worth ington s niece, Camille Anne Rob ertson, on, her birthday annfc versary. - ' Jack Gaulke and M. J: Wiilard were attending to business mat ters in Roseburg Monday. Frank Poole, whose home is in Arizona, is here visiting his moth er, Mrs. . Ef fie Poole, who is, spending some time here caring for he sister, Mrs. Julius Pqple. Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Baker were among those attending to busi ness matters in Roseburg Wednesday. Mrs. Velma Gibson and son, Billie, and Clarence Krieger, went tp Med ford Tuesday and returned here- Wednesday.- While in -Mad ford they were guests of Mrs. Gibson's mother and sister. Mr.-and Mrs. Wade Worthing ton were, shopping and visiting in Roseburg Tuesday. They were accompanied by their nephew, Myron Hoftdal. Mra. Buster Barnes and small son, Pat, have been visiting here at the home of the former's par ents, Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Moore. Bud Clark, who until recently has been residing in Missoula, Montana, has been visiting here with his brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Clark, and also with his mother, Mrs. Henry Hoiler. . He left Monday evening for Tacoma where he has accepted employment. Mrs. Perry De Voe and daugh ter, Jean, and son, Bobbie, and Mrs. Luke Beals and son, Jackie, were among those shopping in Roseburg Saturday. Others going there that day were Mr. and Mrs. R. A Mopre, Miss Jean Duncan, J. D. Wright. T. L. Weaver, p. C.' Hill, Miss Mildred Thompson, Miss, Marjofie Church, Mi's. Alma Williams and Howard' Mpqre. . Miss, Anna Lewis, primary teacher in the local school, en joyed a visit during the week-end at her hqme in Roseburg. Lawrppce Michaels recently spent seyeral days in Portland at tending f business affairs. Dur ing his absence Mrs. Michaels and their small son, Larry, were guests at the home of the for mer's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clay Ulam. Thursday Mv. and Mrs. Pete Ulam were business visitors in Roseburg. They remained there during the evening in prder that they might attend the theatre. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Higgins and Miss Maybell Rainville visited George Higgins in Salem Sunday. George, who has been receiving treatment at the T. B. hospital there for some time, )? much im proved in Health. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Matthews were, business visitors in Rose burg Wednesday. During the week-end. Mrs. Jordan will ' be re membered by her many friends here as Dolly, Widrig. Sutherlin Bob Hunt of Drain was a. busi ness visitor here and at Glide Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Jenkins of I Riverside are caring for the W. P. Graham place during their ab sence In California.
