Mrs. Susie Curtis and grand daughter, of Cascade Locks spent a few days in Sutherlin last week attending to property interests of Mrs. Curtis. Mr. and Mrs. Wllam Brady of Chicago stopped, fpr a shprt visit at the John Musgrove home Saturday en route home via Seattle after spending some time in California on vacation. Miss Lllla Young returned Tuesday from Talent, where she has been visiting with Mrs. Bill Glelm. Mrs. Glelm will be re membered as Miss Virginia Allen. Miss Thelma Graham, of Rose burg, is visiting her aunt, Mrs. Victor Shaw and family. Clff Thornton, county sheriff, wqs in town on business Tuesday. Mrs. Harry Manning has again taken over the management of! the Canyonville hotel. She hasi closed the dining room, and will operate u rooming house only. Mrs. Rogers nnd her son, John, are living at Canyon auto camp. Mrs. Allien Hamberg and daughter, Elinor, went to Port land Wednesday. Mrs. Ramberg went for medical attention. Puole, of Kan Diego, were guests ut the Homer Johnson Demands $45,000 in Road Job Suit Ol.YMHA, June 17. - (AP j Homer Johnson, road contractor, brought suit against the state in superior court Monday for $15,000 which he alleges Is due him for'; a contract in connection with lm- provenienl on the secondary high way between Scavicw and Ocean Park in Pacific county. Johnson's complaint said his contract was to furnish materials from Houeynian quarry, but in-1 steail the slate required him to provide materials from another source, which caused him addi tional expense.
