A leader in gardening in this city Mrs. Wimberly touched brief ly on the necessity of gardens as a means of self-expression and suggested various books in the Roseburg public library as a means of solving garden prob lems. She opened her talk by remark ing that healthy children, com fortable homes and beautiful gar dens are dependent on the Ameri can woman for success. The gar dens, Mrs. Wimberly said should express the owner's personality and the Informality of gardens is a successful key to social affairs. Through the exchange of plant ings much enjoyment is derived and also through gardening the modern women can achieve many physical benefits, ton, Mrs. Orlcna Slattery and Mrs. W. C. Printz.
