THREE Society and Clubs By LOTUS KNIGHT PORTER ANNUAL ROTARY CHRISTMAS PARTY TO BE HELD TONIGHT The annual Rotary Christmas party for Rotarlana and Rotafy Anns will be an informal dinner affair at the Hotel Umpqua at six thirty o'clock tonight. December 21st. An excellent program has been planned. A toy gift exchange, the toys to be given to the fire de partment after the program, will be one of the enjoyable features of the evening. The Glen- dale Coterie club met Wednesday, December 13, at the home of Mrs. Arthur Paschelke ot Gilbertson avenue. Mrs. F. R. Cunningham and Mrs. Fred Morey were assist ing hostesses. J The rooms were attractively del-orated In the Christmas motif, with a lovely Christmas tree as the center of attraction. The refresh ment table was centered with hol ly and red tapers In crystal can dlesticks. The roll call wns responded to with the title of a book read dur ing the year. The library board reported one hundred seventy-eight books loaned the past month, and a number of new books added. The program was followed by a social hour, and dainty refresh ments were served by the hostess es. DORCAS SOCIETY HAS MEETING WEDNESDAY ELK TON, December 20. The Dorcas society met at the church Wednesday afternoon for a Christ mas party and election of officers. ."The meeting opened with sing ing some Christmas sefngs. Mrs. Iila Thomas and Mrs. .Grace Beck ley sang a duet. Prayer by Mrs. Owens, Mrs. Frances Hedden was" re elected president at the election of officers, Mrs. Evelyn Binder was elected vice president, Iris Haines was re-elected Becretary-treasurer. Each member brought a gift for (he lunch room which were placed under a Christmas tree and when the packages were opened many useful things were found. Mrs. Eleanor DeCamp added her name to the membership roll. Mrs. Frances Hedden was hos tess. The tables were very pret ty with a Christmas motif.
