An onimrtunltr to obtain 40 of the scholarship awards will be open to students who have never before attended an institution of higher learning, it was stated. The re maining 30 scholarships will be given to students already register ed in the university. The selection of recipients will be based primarily on need, and the high school or col leg lute schol astic record of the applicants. Ap plication forms, which have beeu sent out to high school principals throughout the state, must be re turned by April 1. The awards will be announced in May. Dr. Fallen said. Applica tions from graduate and undergrad uate students now attending the university will be due June 1.
