Miss Edith Simester, mis sionary from Foot-how, China, con cluded the evening's program by giving very interesting comments on her experiences in China. Mrs. Churchill was assisted on her committee by Mi s. Earl Wiley, -Mrs. K. A. Hritton, Mrs. Ned Dixon, Mrs. Hugh Harris, Mrs. Unite Mel lis, Mrs. Roscue Marsters ain Mrs. Everett Junes. Announcements were made re garding the large birthday dinner affair to be sponsored by the Ladies Aid in November. The committees lor the dinner will be announced at Thursday's luncheon meeting of the Aid. U. S. W. V. There was a large attendance at the meeting of the Ladles Aid at the home ol .Mrs. Harry Cook Friday afternoon. Mrs. Ella Leach led the devotional part of the meeting and Mrs. Culbertson prepared the missionary study. President Mrs. Hessie Seimers presided over the business meet ing when a letter from Mrs. E. F. McFarluitd wind Mis. Rates was read. The secretary was instruct ed to answer same, Inviting them to meet with the Aid at their No vember meeting. Shoemaker huvu returned to their homes in this city, after attending the na tional convention of Building and loau associations at Los Angeles. They stopped lu San Francisco to visit the former's nt'phew and niece, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Par geter. Mr. Pargeter and Mr. Shoemaker 'returned north as far as Med ford by plane, where they were met by automobile by Mrs. Shoemaker and Mrs. Pargeter, who accompanied them back to Roseburg.
