Governor I. 1. Pntterson and County Judge Walter S. Hamilton assisted In the laying of the cor nerstone. A metallic box was plac ed in the stone, containing the names of the county and slate ex ecutives, the name of President Hoover, the names of city officers, a speeial edition of the News lie view. S. P. time table, telephone directory, copy of tho grange cere monial, program of tho dedication ceremony, and a chamber of com merce booklet. Two bands, one from Sutherlin and the other the Roseburg Muni cipal band, participated In the event, and played concerts afler the conclusion of the afternoon pro eram, which included addresses by Governor Patterson and Circuit Judge J W. Hamilton. The thea tres were cro wiled for the special matinee performances, while there was also a big crowd at the football game. In the evening a very Interesting program of stunts wns given on Douglas street in front of the courthouse building. Floodlights were placed ut each end of the block to afford Illumination, and red flares were also used. The program concluded with a dunce In the evening.
