"Is that singing?" he cried, "is that the way you attend to my les sons? Are you canaries or spar rows? Why do you PEEP?" Tho little canries could only shuffle ahout in the most pltifu discomfort. They would have hid den themselves under the seed-box had there only been room enough. Angrier and angrier grew Mr. Can ary. 'Why, he cried, his voIcp throb bing with rage, "even the shadow children can sine!" The shadow-children shook their heads nil except Knarf, who smil ed proudly. "Certainly we can sing, he cild. "We don't just peep like you ! " "Of course not," Mr. Canary re marked. "You sing very well, don't you?" "Oh yen, very well." "That's nopftune you've hi ways attended to your singing lessons." Name for Event Needed In order to properly advertise the event a proper name-slogan was deemed necessary aud It was the opinion of all members of the committee that a short contest should be conducted. It was point ed out that such a name should be short and catchy and describe the event.
