Willi all clant beds on the shores of Marin and Sonoma counties under a strict quarantine ordered by Dr Walter M. Dickie, director of the state department of public health. Indications w ere today that five San Francisco residents stricken alter eating toxic clams, would recover. Four other persons have died with in the last week after eating clams or mussels gathered off the north ern California coast. While an outbreak of mussel poisoning occurred in Julv. I!ii!7, ihls year was the first in which cases of clam poisoning have been observed by the slate board of health, :iiil Dr. Dickie today, in making public results of research work 011 causes of the poison. Twelve of the Winchester Hay loggers last Monday and Tuesday were fighting the fire that waa raging in the logged-off land east of Winchester Bay.
