June 19. (A P.) Any resident of Whittier who lived here in the nineties can get a ready bearing nowadays with anecdotes of loil Henry's girlhood. For Lou, now Mrs. ilorbert Hoover, has become WhittJei's most distinguished resident. Whittier remembers Lou as an enthusiastic young girl In her early teens, living in tins Quaker town wiit) tier tumor and mother. Air. and Airs. Chaiius Henry. iu was the eidust daughter, and her fath er was cashier iu the village bunk. Natural Leader Lou, recollections of those days agree, was a natural leader and a girl who inspired loyalty. Lou Henry put her arm around her and accompanied her all the way home, consoling: "Never mind, the teacher was tired and didn't mean half what she said."
