IN ACCIDENT TODAY Floyd DwInelU Porterviile," Cali fornia, youth, is at Mercy hospital suffering from a ripped open right eye, the Injury received shortly af ter noon, today while the, young Kiau was working on a car. With Lewis Hintou, also of Porterviile, he was enroute home from Spo kane. -A bearing burned out on their car while they were about twelve miles south of this city and young Dwinell was using a wrench in making repairs. Accidentally In raising the wreuch he hit his right eye, tearing the eye wide open. He was brought tot the offices of Dr. A. C. Seely In' Roseburg and first aid was given. He has been removed to Mercy hospital and in the morning will undergo an opera tion to remove the eye. the sight of which was totally destroyed. I Young Dwinell Is the son of C. ' As the 1A class at. the Benson school was very small having only 4 members, it was decided to give these children a promotion into the 213 grade and Miss Katherine Ol Bon will take both the 2A and 2R grades, relieving Miss Elsie John son, who will go to the Hose school to take the 1A and 2A grades at that school. Miss Verna Carothers, who -was assigned to the 1A and 2A grades will now take a class of beginners, the two classes being instructed by Miss Carothers and Miss Elizabeth Par rott.
