FIRST GRADES

New Plan Does Away With,.
Overcrowded Condition
in the Beginners
. .- : T ;! Classes. . -
Considerable shifting has bein
made necessary by the congestion
in tne flr9t grades at the local
that the plan worked out today
will solve the problem and will re-
lieve the situation in a very satis-;
factory manner. '
As the 1A class at. the Benson
school was very small having only
4 members, it was decided to give
these children a promotion into the
213 grade and Miss Katherine Ol
Bon will take both the 2A and 2R
grades, relieving Miss Elsie John
son, who will go to the Hose
school to take the 1A and 2A
grades at that school. Miss Verna
Carothers, who -was assigned to
the 1A and 2A grades will now
take a class of beginners, the two
classes being instructed by Miss
Carothers and Miss Elizabeth Par
rott. This will materially relievo
the congestion !n.; these. grades tho
plan having been put into exec.it.
tlon this morning with a very, en.
couraglng result. f

teaching staff or the city schools.

have taught in the Benson school

absence in order that she may tuke

of Oregon. Mrs. W. SJost is sub.
stituting until a regular Instructor
