The Grcgson Sales company, of Spo kane, has charge of the arrange ments, and Auctioneer "Greg," reputed to be a whirlwind in his line of cndeaVor, will auction off the cars. A platform has been built next to the south wall of the mammoth shop, ind each and every cur sold will be driven onto this platform, whore it will undergo in spection from probable buyers, and then sold. If any buyer is skepti cal about the performance of the car, he will be privileged to dem onstrate it to his vntiro satisfac tion. For a week mechanics, painters and heJpers have been busy condi tioning the cars to be auctioned. X'nder the personal direction of Norman Fisher, shop superintend ent, these cars have ; undergone repairs and adjustments that entile- Lockwood Motor company to guarantee each and every one of them. Batteries have been tested out by Ken, the battery man, and whenever needed have been re charged. Down in the painting de partment Fred Porter has given the finishing touch that brought the cars up to a good appearance, and after these automobiles were final ly pronounced fit, Jack Ponsler's group of salesmen .have placed them in the show - room, where visitors are today looking them over. There are cars of most makes in the group to be sold tomorrow, but of course Fords predominate. The usual Ford guarantee goes with each car sold, and Charley Lock wood, who has built up a wonder-' fill business in this city since he took over Ford sales somo years ago, expects this sale to be the big gest thing in car selling that he has ever undertaken. The event has been advertised throughout the entire county and in parts of Coos county. More than 5000 posters, besides constant ad vertising in the News-lteview all of this week, has acquainted the people of Southern Oregon with the date of the sale, and hundreds of buyers from all sections are res pected to begin flocking to Rose-' burg early tomorrow to attend. The- auction will begin promptly at 2 p. m. Saturday and continue until evening, and then again at 7 o'clock the work will be resumed. During these periods it is confi dently expected that more than 35 cars will be sold, and terms will be given as the buyer may desire. There will bo no "cappers" lo bid in any car. In fact, this is positive ly prohibited by an affidavit made by Mr, Loekwood, who assures his patrons and friends that no such practices will be tolerated. A band will be on hand during the day to enliven the occasion with musical selections, and everything done to mako the affair an enjoyable one for those attending. Thero will be seats for ladies- and the manage ment wants it understood that ladies are especially invited to this sale. Political Reason Denied The Associated Press is author itatively informed that the foreign office was not connected with the raid in any manner, but- It is ad mitted that Anglo-Russian diplo matic relations may bo effected in consequence of the polcio action. Whether this effect will be serious depends first upon what the Scot land Yard search discloses and, se cond, how seriously tho Soviet government views tile raid.
