In permitted, while the minimum on boxed apples is 36.000 pounds. This, the shippers Interested claim, favors the bulk and bas ket men to the disadvantage of the box shippers. They say they should have the same minimum or else 'the hearing should be re opened and the basket rate made the same as that which now ob tains on boxed apples. A discrepancy of about 7,400 pounds Is the actual difference claimed by the proponents of the boxed shipments. It amounts to afiout 25 per cent and, they claim, Is favoritism for the basket and bulk rate. They say the general policy of rate-making should pre vail in establishing the rate on basket chlpmenu, and so they ask the Commission to make the mi nimum on boxed apples the same a on basketed apples. When the rate on basketed ap ple was granted, boxed apple men said It would not he used to any extent. Hut the fact that orders have been received for several hundred cars and a number of s tappers have many cars of bas kets on hand, leads to the belief that the new pack is being given ftr trlnL i-'vpiv the men mak- !lng the application to the Com mission admit that considerable frull is being shipped In baskets.
