A large crowd gathered at the RoseburK 1hI and (iun Club groumls yesterday evening to wit ness the shooting exhibition by lius Peret, of Yoncalta, well known marksman, shooting for the Peters Cartridge Company. Mr. Peret gave an excellent exhibition, shoot ing two different sh)t guns, a 30 30 rifle, a .32 rifle, two .3S revolv ers, and two .22 rifles. He broke flying targets drew pictures, shot chalk from between his wife's Hps. and broke targets which she held in her hands. Ten fortst fires have been reported In the Cascade forest within the past ten days, according to the report issued today by Ntison F. Mac Huff, supervisor. Four of the fires were started by lightning and six were man caused.
