We did nut have (he best ai lindane. Hume who were absent could not come for various reasons, preparation fur school examination, etc but we Hure wish soma of the scouts who have not ben attending regularly would tthow up. Durtnx the regular business meeting we discussed the summer camp mostly at we had no other Important business. After the meeting a few tests were taken. We adjourned rather early as this Is examination week at school. Mr. Durham, our scoutmaster has papers to fill out now so that our troop can 1h registered. We expect this will he done by not later than next week. Melrose Troop Melrose Troop met Ht Cranio hall Friday evening with but one member absent. We had a short business meeting and then had pa trol drill and practiced signalling. It will not be long before several of our number will be ready for the Second Clung test. Scoutmaster Sandstrom went to Itoseburg Tuesday for the purpose of registering the troop. This will b done In public cere mony some time In the near future. It Is not that the Scouts are proud to cremate our National Flag that we want to do it in public but ra ther that there Is a need for edu cating a large percentage of the public ki the matter of disposing of a flag which should no longer be displayed as such. Scouts do not take it as being forced to respect the flag but rather as a privilege Adults, too are showing more res pect than has been done in the past.
