The pageant depleted the Queen of the May and her court btdug entertained by Mother Goose char acters, and It offered a vide lati tude for originality In music, cos tumes and expression. 1'he cos tuming was particularly good, and tho children were cleverly dressed for the parts for which they were Belected. The many characters to be found in the Mother Gootso Rhymes frol icked upon the stage before the May Quoen, Miss Kl'low May Wilson, while the choruses were sun? by the members of her court who Sur rounded her throne. Kach Juvenile actor carried off his part in an excellent manner and the children are deserving of much praise for the clever manner In which they portrayed their parts. This Is the second pageant Miss Haseltine lias arranged and pre sented, the first being a History of Oregon, which was given out of doors.
