This Is the eleven hundred and fifteenth anniversary of the death ot the moat romantic charaster of history, of whom comparatively tew people have ever beard. Still, tha era ot iantastic adventure, bizarre romance and quaint stan dards of chlvasry, all but passed away when Haroun-el-Raschld was laid if rest with bis fathers. He was born in 763 A. D. and died in 80 A. D. Becoming Caliph ot Bagdad at the age of 2 J, bis, picturesque personality served as the pivot around which to build all the Arabian Night tales. Under his reign, Bagdad became a kingdom ot learning and civilisation. In Douglas Fair bank's amazing picture, "The Thief ot Bagdad," which will be seen at the Antlers Theatre, you are transported to the fantastic Bagdad ot Haroun-al-Raschld. where the salt of life wss love and the wine of life adventure. It la a love tale built around a mystical quest that leads through all sorts ot fanciful places. Doug flies through the air on a Magic Carpet, fights his way up a flight of a thousand steps, conquers the monsters of the deep, resists the wiles ot an undersea princess, and escapes on a flying horse. All ot which are but a lew of his count less adventures, whieh baa made this picture far ahead ot any yet known aince this industry began. LIBERTY THEATRE. The screen story shows bow Na poleons' disregard ot tha laws of morality led directly to bis down fall, aa predicted by the Empress Josephine In her famous words: "Napoleon, my master, my em peror, my lover, it you outrage God's laws and east ma ott, as surely aa I will die so will your star of fortune set.' Tha picture, while revealing particularly the effect on Napol eon's canfx of his divorce of the woman h loved, also tells the story of his military sareer on the bloody battlefields of Europe. Ac tual history is the basis ot the story and lends the film a fascin ation that is nothing short of marvelous. Tbe Judgment sets aside the verdict ot the Jury last month awarding Mrs. Dennla toun 6,000 pounds or nearly $25. 000 tor the alleged breach ot con tract The plaintiff, however, recovers the total amount of 472 pounds, 18 shillings for sunn loaned to Lieu tenant-Colonel Uennistoun and which be bad not returned. She also la awarded tbe coata of the action with the exception ot that part Involving tha allegation of breach ot contract. This section of the costs, the court bold, the defendant waa entitled to recover. Tbe Judge ordered a general atay In execution until further order and liberty to appeal. In delivering bis Judgment, sir Henry deplored tbe fact that the to be made public, but be added that the question ot publicity waa not one for the cours to decide.
