Pne hundred veniremen, three hundred more than the usu al number summoned, were called to the court today for the trial of w. II. Kennett and Mrs. Mae Dennett, Indicted on a charge of murduing Mrs. Augusta Hoff mann, aunt of Dennett. Dennett is a railroad official of Home, Georgia. Klernentfl of mystery as to the alleged crime were to be explain ed at the trial. Mr. and Mrs. Dennett were indicted on a charge or murder In September, 1924, following the discovery of bones, raid to have been tho.e of a wom an, under the house they occupied during their residence of more than four years In Chattanooga. V. Ii. Dennett moved with his family to Chattanooga from Knox vilie in 1912, was transferred to Home, Georgia, in 1117 and has lived there since. MiHs JloMinan made her home with the Dennetts in Chattanooga. At the preliminary bearing it was not brought out just when Miss Hoffman was last seen here. Wit nesses testified, however, that in quiries at the Dennett home as the a u nl's whereabouts brought the conflicting information that she had returned to Knoxville and had married a "man named Drown," and removed to California. One of the chief leatures was the discussion conducted by Oscar Gorreil on the coming athletic meet to be held in Hoseburg in May. Several visitors attended the meeting, while practi cally all of the teachers within the zone were present. Next week's meeting is to be held at Drain, and an interesting program has been prepared.
