Chrysler, head of the Maxwell-Chrysler firm, the five .plants of the organization In Ue' trolt will undertake the greatest operation ever attempted, accord lug to a message received by J. W. Michael, local distributor. New production machinery Is be ing built and installed at the fac tory to provide for a contemplate ed production of 65t0 Chrysler cars per month, it is declared. Walter P. Chrysler himself Is directing the work aud states that the factory Improvements will all be ready In ample time to take care of spring sales that are anti cipated from reports reaching the firm headquarters from the var ious dealers. In Its first year Just 82,000 Chryslers were built and sold and when' the factory facili ties are improved as planned, the capacity will be Increased to 6(1,000 cars yearly or more than double the li24 output. The same measure of Increased production will also be propor tioned to the Maxwell division of the factory, according to reporta received here. "Though automobile manufac turing plants throughout the coun try are generally active, we are enjoying more than usual de mand," stated J. E. Fields, vice president of the Maxwell division in his message to the dealers.
