Douglas Creditors Ass'D.Inr. In Rear of Douglas Abstract Company A. H. Hagen. mayor of Glendale, was In Roseburg today looking ov er Roaeburg's fire equipment. Glendale Is planning - on Im provements to Its fire apparatus. Mayor Hagen states, anU he Is picking up Ideas to be used In milking changes which will add to the protection of the city of which he Is the head official. Glendale has a large hand-drawn chemical engine, having two large chemical tanks and a hose body, and It is proposed by the council to mount the tanks and equipment on a motor chassis. Increasing the sixe of the hose body, and making a small combination engine. This would be much faster than the present apparatus, and would un doubtedly be a valuable addition. Mayor Hagen also investigated th city's ladder equipment, and special pleres of apparatus, with a view of supplying some of the needs of the Glendale department. The rapid growth of Glesdsle. and (he aze and Importance of some of Its bouses and business es-' tnbllshments mskes It Imperative, Mayor Hngen says, that th protec tion facilities be Increased.
