Handy passed away at the Soldiers Home hospital this morning about 11 o'clock. He entered the home only seven days ago. He was born in New York and was 78 years, 9 months and 6 days of age at the time of bis death. The body will be shipped to Cottage Grove for burial. It Is ex pected that the labor bureaus of the stale of Oregon, Washington and Cali fornia win have a meeting soon to de termine the best methods to be pur sued in handling the unemployed in the three states to the end that they will be sent where there Is work and not become a burden upon communities that do not need surplus labor.
