Fifty oc cupants of rooms at the Sargent Hotel, 2711 Grand Avenue, on the cast nidi), were forced to flee, scant ily clad, from a fire which swept the building early today. The fire caused damage estimated aa $10,000. Police charged the fire originated in the room of Adolph Antonson, a teamster, who had been picked up earlier In tho morning by a patrol men who know him and put to bed in his room. The policeman took a cigarette front Antonson, but accord ing to the officers the man lit anoth er one, and the fire was declared to have been caused by this cigaret te.
