To get back to the subject of eggs there were 12.000 at the farm this spring and summer. Two thousand ol ! these were sjiipped out, whilo the oth er 10.000 were hatched at the local farm. There were nearly 800 motiierly hens, not pheasant hens, for they they are too flighty and are needed for thf ; kcs they lay, but common barnyard ! fowl, Ithode Island P.eds for the most i part. Eight hundred hens, motherin' from ten to 20 little stripped pheasant chicks apiece there was another sieht to behold! The little pheasants ! look almost like fuzzy bumble bees, they are so small and lively. Few Died. Not all of the little pheasant liv ed, but about 6000 of them did. Demo gloski and Jack were kept busy from early morning till late at night wate' ing more than 6000 little pheasants and their 800 foster mothers. This season there have been 288' o? the Chinese and Mongolian phean ants shipped out, going to all parts o' the state of Oregon to be turnef loose in the fields.
