Also trade nme of those old fire traps: frame buildings on Jackson street for new modern structures. With these improve ments Roseburg would go on the map as being a town in which ev ery tourist would be glad to visit. Some advertizing alwut our city of ROSES and the beautiful valleys, would work wonders for the whole community. Leu txApat our home town, at kast cut the weeds In our yards and then plant more ROSES. WTint Itowbnra- Needs. (By C. M. Hilton) It needs first of all the thlnu we ham all benn to work for with onr might pnbl'c Hhrary. It losks If it would come. We need the other thing fo often .pokeu of- children's playground. I!y all pull ing together this also will l ac complished. It needs also a com munity building, with shower taths swimming vo,, f : ;11 and bas ket ball court, and connected with It, n rest room. p:aee to write lvtters. and have many other con veniences that one would expect In a town of this size. W'e need a lum ber mill and box fartorv. This would add a pay roll to the town, bring in more ip".e. creato indus try, and add in evry way to the growth of the town and its Inter ests. We need this other railroad to he put across, that it also may help the development of the com munity. We need a good Internr ban ' system betwr-en here and Eu gene. Py this means we could bo connected with Portland by the In terurban system. A system of this kind with the proper backing would be; one of the most paying prop ositions that one ould undertake. We need a greater community sp!rit. Let there come to us the desire In Ko)liurg to pull toceiher. What, we could accomplish would be mar llous by a ui:;el effort. If one bunch nf p'-oplo wsnt rno thins, and anoth'T party Is pulling against that, nothing kt accomplished, tiivo us unity of sTiirit and action, and Roseburg will easily come far to the front of snuth'-rn Oregon towns.
