An early morning walk around the city increased our confidence In our opinion that we are prospering; that business along all lines of trade is increasing daily. There are no empty houses, and tents are whiten ing the landscape In every direeijon. We are enjoying a boom and we feel sure of permanent results. Ileal estate Is moving and rents going skyward. It seems to us that the "good times coming" has come. I Mrs. Violet Agee, of Portland, and her Utile daughter and Mrs. Charles Aytch, of Galesville, made us an ap preciated visit on Monday. Mrs. W. With tear dimmed eyes she told us of her first meeting with Hardy Ellin, und as memory's veil lifted she eulogized the husband of her youth, who waa the one mnii in nil the world to her. Every incident was related carefully and correctly und we listened rap turously as sho lifted her eyes to u picture of Mr. Ellin hanging on the I wall. She gazed with reverent awe on the face of her husband, who hud I made her life a dream of Joy. A smile of ineffable sweetness illumin ated her fealures. Thank God for our beloved pioneers. MX(;i;U PKIH'Y TAKES OVEK MKIM'OKD SIIOWIlOr.KK A big change in the local amuse ment world has just been announced by which Arthur J. Morgan and II. L. Perry owners and managers of the Itialto Theater have Jmt se cured possession of the Page Thea ter having taken a 10-yeur lease on that house from Frederick C. Page, says the Medi'ord Tribune. Negotia tions for this lease had been on for some time. Dr. Page finds that he can no longer devote so much of his time to the running of the Page and has therefore retired so as to give much needed time to his other in terests. Along with the lease they took over all the moving picture contracts of the Page, which means that ai tho Kialto the Medford public will see all the big movie stars. Tho rise of Messrs1. Moran and Percy in the local amusement world has been rapid since I hey first en tered that business here two years ago, building the Kialto and con ducting that house so as to make it popular with the public Th pi voting men will persuc the same winning policy at the Kialto and ai the Page.
