A bill has been prepared and will be Introduced in the next legislature to place all the educational Institutions of the state under a single board of regents. If such a law 1b enacted It will mean that the same board of regents will have Jurisdiction over the affairs of the normal schools, the agricultural college and the University of Oregon. The measure will probably be intro duced by Representative Llbby, of Marion county. The principal argument advanced by those who favor Buch a plan 1b one of economy. It is argued that a single board of regents of not more than five members, carefully selected as to their qualifications, each di recting a certain department after the cabinet plnn, will save more to the state within a year than possibly any other reform. There would be a uniformity in conducting th, schools, and a system that would evolve a great number of now unfor- seen advantages. Alpha Lodge. The season for coughs and colds it now at hand and too much care can not be used to protect the children. A child Is much more likely to con tract diphtheria or scarlet fever when he has a cold. The quicker you cure uls cold the less the risk. Chamber lain'B Cough Remedy is the sole re liance of many mothers, and few of those who have tried It are willing to use any other. Mrs. F. F. Starcher of Ripley, W. Va.. says: "I have never used anything other than Chamberlain's Cough Remedy for my children and it has always given good satisfaction." Thin remedy contains no opium or other narcotic and may be given as confidently to a child as to an adult. For asle by Hamilton Drug Co. FOR SALE House barn and two lots on Hoover street; good well.
