As an evi dence of the early resumption of work on the Oregon Western, com monly known as the Coos Bay branch of the Southern Pacific, from thin plce to Marabfleld, construction of which was begun two years ago, and ou wulcli work was stopped about 10 months ago, coincident with that of nearly all similar enterprises through out the country, the engineer in uharge here has ordered that a force of 30 or 40 men bo put to work on the public road at places where it Is uecessary to make new road In lieu of that taken by the railroad right-of-way.
