This news caused a stir In hop cir cles inasmuch as Mr. llorst had been unusually bearish on the market. That was the toll claimed by a sudden shower of ruin which wet the tracks on a steep spur of tho Portland and Southwest ern Logging railway. Five men, In charge or tho train, and crew were on the locomotive. These escaped. Twelve men were on the one gravel car which was being pushed uphill by the locomotive when the runaway occurred. Not onn of these men got nway unhurt. They clung to the enr ns it swept buck down the hill, and Jumped the track at a sharp curve. Three of them were killed outright, two more died while being taken to Scappoose. and another died after being brought to tho Good Samaritan Hospital, at Portland. Now help Roseburg grow.
