Weiss alleges that the collapse was due to the excavation for a building for Kohlhagen which weakened the foundation of the structure which he rccuples. By reason of the accident, Weiss says $071.40 worth of goods were either destroyed or damaged be yond a saleable condition, and. In addition. It cost him $30 for the services of a watchman and $15 more to have the debris removed. Dewald grappled with the robber, who struck the merchant a Btunning blow over the tomple. At this point an accomplice ap peared ou the scene and held Dewald while the other struck him again. The second blow knocked the old man to the floor In a senseless con dition. 1 Mrs. Dewald, who was in the rear of the store, heard the struggle and screamed. Her alarm frightened the two men and they disappeared. A Towd soon gathered and special of ficers are attempting to trace the would-be robbers. Dewald soon re gained consciousness, and, although badly bruised, will soon recover. 1 A Paying Investment.
