Misses Rae snd Lucile Hamilton have returned from hop picking at Creswell. They enjoyed the outing very much, but coming up on the train some light fingered party relieved Miss Lucile of her purse containing quite a sum of money and a number of keepsakes more highly valued than the coin. It is thought the thief got off the train at Cottage Grove. After an examination by Dr. White, of Norah, Mr. J. J. Kelleher's little daughter, who is troubled in her speech, the latter took his child to Portland, and will leave her there at St. Vincent's hospital in charge of a skilled physician and the sisters. Emergency Medicines It Is a great convenience to have at hand reliable remedies for use in case of accident and for slight injuries and ailments. A good liniment and one that is fast becoming a favorite if not a household necessity is Chamberlain's Pain Balm. By applying it promptly to a cut, bruise or burn it allays the pain and causes the injury to heal in about one-third of the time usually re quired, and as it is an antiseptio it pre vents any danger of blood poisoning. When pain balm is kept at band a sprain may be treated before inllam mation sets in, which insures a quick recovery. For sale by Hamilton Drug Co. FOR SALE Ij'OK SALE. One of the few railroad companies that owns and operates the sleeping cars in service on its lines, is the Chi cago, Mlllwaukee & St. Paul. The sleeping cars on this line were formerly Pullman cars, operated by the Pullman Company, but for a dozen years past the railway company has owned and operated the sleeping car equipment. In building its sleeping cars, a departure from the old standard pattern of cars has been made to the ex tent of adding about six inches to thu width and height of the sleepers. This permits of wider and higher berths. Length has also been added to berths, so that comfort is found in them which is lacking in ordinary sleeping cars. These large cars are in service on practically all of the lines of the St. Paul road, and are very popular with the traveling public. Try some Myers Royal Horse, Cattle and Poultry Sp'ce sold by S.
