ElHTOit Rkvibw: Since the election J have frequently met intense republi cans that claim that the republican party showed themselves less partisan Id their voting than democrats. Now while I commend them for raising above party to dofeatobjeetionable candidates on their ticket, I do not think that the majorities of the several candidates, as shown by the olllcial returns, proves th(assertion to bo true. H is true we elected two democrats in the county, Mr. Coshow and Mr. Agee, and our circuit judgo, although a democrat, car ried thocounty by H00 majority. While all candid democrats will admit that they were elected by republican votes, candid republicans will have to admit that a number of republican candidates had their majorities greatly augmented by democratic votes. Mr. Coshow was nominated on the democratic ticket against Mr. Marsters, nominated by the v republicans. Mr. Coshow's majority was 272, hut Mr. Marsters had become very unpopular with an element in Ills party, whether justly or not I can't say. I J have no criticism to make. Hut as' the average republican majority was say f50, Mr. Coshow, owing to his great popularity and eminent lltncss for tho pluco, overcame this majority and won by 272 votes. Mr. Ageo's majority was, I think, M2. His war record no doubt helped him greatly. Rut how about he republican treasuror with i:t5 ma jority, the assessor 80!), school superin tendent 10HS, surveyor !IOf, coroner 11(15, to suy nothing of us having practically endorsed Mr. Itrown, Dist. Ally., and Mr. Young, commissioner? I am not intensely partisan myself and hail this as a hopeful sign of a broader and more ! . liherAlixtni sentiment. In the ennntv that will enable men to get away from I their Trolltical prejudices and hoist them to a more independent piano of thought and action. When the time comos that wo vote for men on their merits Instoad of for their party zeal 4 . I we will have better otliciuln to serve the ;' county's interests- K Fr m lluuilrttl Vnitn For a hundred years or more Witch Haxel has been recognized as a super ior remedy, hut It remained for E.
