Organization was effected without unusual incident, everything passing oft with cut und dried exactitude. The convention is decidedly Rooseveltian in Us complexion, badgos bearing the likeness of the president being in evi dence galore. The mention of the name of the late Senator M. A. Hanna was greeted with a tremendous out burst of applause. The feature of today's proceeding was the seating of two delegates each from Porto Rico and the Philippines. It la Up to the Doctor. A lady wrote us from Winchester, Va., that she had been under a Doc tor's care for 4 years for dyspepsia, the pain appeared to center under the left shoulder blade, was so severe ut times that she could neither eat nor sleep. t?he had lost faith in her home Doctor, and asked us to send her sample of Dr. Gunn's Improved Liver Pills, which had been recommended to her. We sent her two pills, in a few days she sent for a box. Now she writes that the pain under her shoulder has left her entire ly, she enjoys her meals and never sleeps less than 8 hours every night, and this has nil come about in 2 weeks, and cost her 50c. for two boxes of nills. Says the doctor charged her $.")0.00, and that she told him he had better take the $50.00 and invesr.it all in Dr. Gunn's Improved Liver Pills and build up his practice. BILLS UNPAID W. E, Dewey Leaves Town .De serting His Family. CREDITORS LAMENT HIS ACT Uad Been Conducting the Shamrock Restaurant, Near tlic Depot, For a Month Past. With outstanding debts against hiin aggregating about $',100, aud without giving the slightest warning to anyone as to his Intention, Warren E.Dewey, who with his wife, has been conducting the "Shamrock" restaurant, near the depot, in this city, suddenly left town last night and up to late this afternoon he could nut be found. Before d' cimp- ing, Dewey sold the stock of confection ery and cigars and most of the grocer- j ies in his establishment, the proceeds of which he took along, together with the receipts of the business since last Saturday night. His wife and two lib tie children, whom he deserted, are left practically penniless, but Mrs. Dewey has sent word to her relatives in Mich igan for money, which will enable her and the children to return there. Dewey was last seen here about 11 o'clock Monday night. After telling his wife that he would be home shortly, he stepped over to A. M osier's restau rant, across the street from his own place of business, and after a vain effort to sell out to .Mr. iw osier lor various prices ranging as far down as 325, he 1 disappeared. The next heard of Dewey was at Winchester. From that plce he 'phoned to Frank Brand, the night waiter at bis restaurant, saying he was bound for his home in Michigan. Mrs. Dewey was nearly prostrated this morning upon discovering her hui baod's perfidy. Dewey had leased the "Shamrock" restaurant for a year from M. Devaney. He had been in possession of the place for a little over a month and had not paid a cent of the contract rental. The establishment Is closed pending the ad justment of matters, after which Mr. Devaney will probably reopen the busi ness. The local authorities have notified oflicers all along the line of travel to be on the lookout for Dewey. suspiprr cAPTtJitKi. Later. At 3:30 o'clock this after noon Sheriff Parrot t received a 'phone. message from social Deputy T Williams, at Wilbur, stating that a man answering Dewey's description had been arrested there. The man will be brought to Hotehurg on the local train this evening. An Alarm tlnrk for 9 Ha you wurit to ret up early and feel pood all day take a Little Karly Riwr or two at bed time.
