Mr. Jackson and family have moved back to Hiddlo. The new machinery for tho oil well arrived Monday, and operations began at once, and in a few days straight drilling will be reached and then we may expect now developments. Oscar Gustafson has rented his busi ness building to Mrs. Sbamplne and Miss Sadie King who have formed a partnership and will continue the busi ness. A bod accident happened to Tom Jackson at his sawmill on North Myrtle on Wednesday evening. While ar ranging the saw Mr. Jackson's left hand came In contact with the saw, severing the thumb and cutting the hand badly. The Woodmen of the World had a regular meeting last evening ami initiated five new members Into the mysteries of the camp. After the hall work the members and their Invited Kelleher City News. John Wagnor, of Hayhurst, was a visitor here during the week. The prospect for a heavy yield of fruit was never better than it ib at the present writing. He reports the wedding of his daughter, the idol of his family. Business matters and delays in travelling, occasioned by storms, caused his absence from Billy Creek to be prolonged several days be yond what he had anticipated. He leaves for Roseburg on business this morning (Friday). G, W. White bus returned from Roseburg. Karl Small is again visiting here. Hans Kmerson is making many valu able improvements about his farm south of the mill, and eventually will have a nice home of it. As per previous announcement, a social dance was given at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Roberts Satur day night last. The music was excel lent, and dancing ceased promptly at midnight. There were present, Mes- dames Stanley, Roberts and Thornton, the Misses Olsen, the Misses Thornton, Messrs. Springer, Shiria, Richey, David Thornton, Joe Thornton, Hewitt, Ham ilton.
