The dfay ended all too soon and at five o'clock -tho boating parties began to make preparations for the return trip, and the first community fair for Smith river had passed into history, but the seed has been sown which will be productive of much good, for the people of that magnifi cent section of country are resolved that next year's fulr shall be even bigger and better than this one. As they left Smith river the chief topic of conversation - among the visitors was the Smith river fair, but since going to Elkton it- is now Sjnlth river and Elkton, for there -they found the same splendid spirit and practically a duplication of the fair nit York Place. One exhibit at Elkton which Smith river did not have was the sheep. . Although three--' threshers were running In the Elkton vicinity a large crowd) was present Very near ly the same program was carried out at Elkton as at Smith river; The list of exhibitors for the Elkton fail have not yet been secured. Features of both fairs were solos by Mrs. Pearcy and Prof. Kadderly and diuots by both of them. These splendid singers responded graciouB- ly to encores. At Smith river, Noah Black was elected president and Clifford Ben son secretary of the permanent fair organization and at Elkton, Mrs. R. O. Thomas president and Mrs. Wal ter Ryritoll secretary.
