4 The Chem awa American HOMEMAKERS CORNER CHRISTMAS ACTIVITIES AT CHEMAWA The n ew sem ester found sev eral ch an g es in the Home Economics d e partm ent. The classes, w hich h a d b e e n in the C lothing a n d L aundry divisions are now in th e Foods a n d Production Sew ing.The Hoods classes in the re g u la r program a re having- the privilege of u sin g the Senior Foods lab o rato ry w hich h a s five unit kitchens- this se m e ste r a s the N avajo girls a re -u sin g the Junior Foods la b oratory. W e h a v e sev eral n e w p ieces of equip m en t for e a c h unit a n d w e are very proud of them. They are n ew alum inum double boilers an d sa u c e pans, cooky sheets a n d biscuit p an s. We also - h av e some sm all stain less .-steel m ixing bow ls. W e are a ll .looking forw ard ..to. .our. work: this, sem ester—especially, the - .chance to "cook'' a n d "eat."A., . C hem aw a h a d a good Christm as The Salem Lions Club w as here to give . a n entertainm ent;, dances, movies,- a n d program s w ere enjoyed b y the students; classes h a d room p arties or other activities; a ll -the dorm itories h a d program s on Christ m as Eve; - presen ts Were distrib u ted to the students; friends and -relativ es visited -on the cam pus; ■ a n d a b ig C hristm as ham d inner w as served to more th a n 600.
