The Oregon Statesman: “ The Indians, like­
wise a Salem team ,’’ are expected to have the
full support of Salem basketball fans in th eir
effort to win the state title, as they played a
hard clean type of basketball throughout the
district tournam ent, and won the respect of
even Salem high rooters by their good sports­
manship. This team is coached by Reginald
Downie.
Fifteen Years Ago
M r. and Mrs. Turney spent Sunday at Mol­
alla and called Oh Mr. Bruce who is farm ing
on his own place.
Twenty Years Ago
Mr. Carrow recently received a letter from
his son, Lyle, who left last spring w ith a num ­
ber of our boys to join the navy. He is on
Iboard one of the largest transports taking tJ.S.
troops abroad.

500 baby chickens have been establish­
ed in the poultry unit.
The All Star basketball team was hon­
ored with a banquet at Hawley hall on
' Wednesday evening, March 16.
Chester Donnelly left the first part of
March to return to his home in Craig,
Alaska.
