ju st com pleted a sp rin g seat and a bed for th e garbage
w agon th is week, and are sta rtin g on a new set of
w heels.
T h e eig h th grade class is about to finish th e study
of U nited S tates history and will soon be given an e x ­
am ination in history. M r. H am m ond is to furnish
th e questions.
A lbert C ourville and Peter O gden are try in g to com ­
plete th e plow ing of the large field back of the la u n ­
d ry th is w eek. T hey are show ing com m endable i n ­
te re st in th e ir vocation.
T h e th ree com panies of W inona H all girls are com ­
petin g for a prize in the m atter of line-up. C o m p eti­
tion is to co n tin u e u n til F eb ru ary , and th e successful
com pany will be privileged to have a party.

Mr. B’s Qualifications:
T h e en g in eerin g d ep artm en t has an 8-horse pow er
boiler for h eatin g th e oil so th a t it can be pum ped to
th e new concrete oid ta n k . T h e boiler has alm ost
paid for itself alread y , because after 48 hours the rail­
road com pany charg es $5.00 per day for car d em u r­
rage, and w ith the new boiler th e car can be pum ped
em pty of oil in less than eight hours.
