Radio Karen Silkwood Remembered is a special presented by Will Doo little on Songs of Work, Strug gle and Change at 8:30 pm, a new time, on KLCC, 89.7 FM. Taylor Made Piano, a Jazz history hosted by Dr. Billy Taylor, features “Swing” at 1 pm on KLCC. This program explores the dominant Jazz style of the 1930’s. Recordings by Duke Ellington, Mary Lou Williams, Teddy Wilson and others. Beethoven Violin Sonatas are the Featured Works on KWAX 91.1 FM at 10 am; at noon, Ravel’s Scherazade. A Canticle for Leibowitz, Walter M. Miller’s 1959 science fiction classic, debuts in a 15-part NPR Playhouse series at 7:80 pm on KLCC 89.7 FM. Part 1 of this science-fiction saga of the after math of a nuclear holocaust. Theatre Oh, What a Lovely War! con tinues at University Arena Theatre at 8 pm. Film Hearts and Minds, award winning documentary, presented by Coalition Opposing Registra tion and the Draft as a part of this nation’s memorial to the vic tims of the American war in Viet Nam, shows at St. Alice Church, 15th and G St., Springfield at 3 pm, and at University of Oregon at 7 and 9 pm, 177 Lawrence Hall. Harpist, Harper, Melissa Morgan Coming to Eugene this weekend is musician Melissa Morgan. Melissa is both a harper (performing on Irish and Paraguayan folk harps) and a harpist (concert pedal harp). Her repertoire includes a wide range of classical, folk, Irish and jazz compositions as well as some unique and exciting original works. Melissa began her study of the classical harp at the age of 8. While living in Guam, she taught music in the schools, published a book about teaching the harp, and began composing original music, influenced by the music of the East. Now living in San Diego, she teaches, performs, and tours. She has published two tapes of original music, "Gateways” and “Heart,” and has made a record of traditional Irish music on the Kicking Mule label. Melissa Morgan can be heard tills Saturday, Nov. 13, on KLCC’s Blackberry Jam, 89.7 FM, at 6 pm. She will also perform in concert on Sunday, Nov. 14, in Gerlinger Lounge on campus, at 7:30 pm.
