Amity Foundation, a Eugene-based research and education organiza tion, is launching a campaign to raise $4,000 in matching funds for a Department of Energy Grant to print 1000 copies of its next book “Gardening Under Cover.” The book will give Pacific Northwest residents who traditionally garden only half of the year reliable home gardening information. “Garden ing Under Cover” will illustrate to vegetable gardeners how to stretch the growing season to 12 months by using simple coverings. The book will be available February of 1983. A benefit dinner at the Keystone Cafe, 395 W. 5th, Oct. 14, starting at 5:30 pm will launch the cam paign. A beer garden opens at 4:30 pm with the Solar Whale. No-Nuke String Band, followed by a harvest dinner featuring Country Style piz za. fruit and vegetable salad bar and soup.
