Polidan will discuss the development history and technology of the JWST, its launch and in-space deploy- ment, current status, and plans for its commission- ing. Easily the most com- plex space science observa- tory ever built, the JWST is expected by many astrophys- icists to offer new insights into the nature and possible origin of the universe. Polidan is an astrophysi- cist/space technologist who has over 45 years of space mission experience. He retired and moved to Oregon in 2016. He unretired in 2020 and is currently employed by Lunar Resources, Inc., a space industrialization company based in Houston, Texas, as their director of programs. Wrestling Coach Gary Thorson said, <Daisy will be the first female wrestler to let- ter and compete all four years for Sisters High School. So far this year, she has a record of 16-7 and has been instru- mental in helping to grow the numbers in our program and has been a great help in lead- ing and modeling the other girls who have wrestled for us this year.= Patterson took third place at the Lady Dragon Invitational in Dallas where she went 4-1 in her tourna- ment and collected four pins for the Outlaws. Fire district seeks board candidates Sisters-Camp Sherman Rural Fire Protection District is extending the application period to fill a vacant posi- tion on the board of directors. Completed applications need to be returned, with a cover letter, to the Fire District9s administrative office no later than Friday, February 25 at 5 p.m. After reviewing all appli- cations, the board of directors will appoint the successful candidate to the vacant posi- tion through June 30, 2023. The board of directors meet each month at 5 p.m. on the third Tuesday. In addition, all members of the board of directors serve on the Sisters- Camp Sherman Rural Fire Protection District Budget Committee. Members of the board of directors must be a resident or own real estate within the boundaries of the Fire District which includes Sisters, Camp Sherman, Squaw Creek Canyon Recreational Estates, Tollgate, Crossroads, and other small subdivisions.
