He’ll discuss future plans for the Sisters Ranger District. Doors will open at 6 p.m., with the program at 7 p.m. This is free and open to the public, and refreshments will be provided. Annual Chili Feed for Vets Ronnie and Susie Frigulti present their 5th annual free chili feed for veterans and their families on Saturday, January 20 from noon to 3 p.m. at Sisters Community Church. Opening Reception for Library Art Exhibit An opening reception for the annual Sisters Library Art Exhibit will be held Friday, January 26 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. with appetizers, beverages, and the announcement of the ever popular People’s Choice Awards. Volunteer for Parks Board The City of Sisters is accepting applications for a volunteer position on the City Parks Advisory Board (must live in the Sisters School District). The Board advises the City Council on matters pertaining to the acquisition, development, maintenance and preservation of public parks, trails, and open space areas; it meets once a month. Vintage Valentine Workshop On Friday, February 9 from noon to 2 p.m. at the Sisters Library, a workshop will be held in which participants will create vintage valentines. Quilt Raffl e for Girl Scouts Sisters Girl Scout Troop 10732 is raising funds for the Sisters Cold Weather Shelter by raffl ing a quilt made by Dera Rosdahl. The 58" x 60" quilt is on display at Rainwater Cafe, where tickets are available: $1 each or six for $5. SPRD Seeks Board Member Sisters Park & Recreation District seeks a volunteer to serve on its Board of Directors. Meetings are generally held at 5:30 p.m. the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month. ARTifacts Art Experience The 21st annual celebration of the arts at Sisters High School takes place Wednesday, January 31, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. It’s fun for the whole family, with hands-on art stations including silkscreening, murals, passports to a take-away prize and more! There will be a pop-up gallery of student art and luthier designs; plus live entertainment performed by students in music programs, with refreshments from the high school’s Culinary Arts program. Fighting Hunger in Sisters Three Sisters Lions Club is collecting food during the month of January to be donated to the Sisters Kiwanis Food Bank.
